Booking station

We have now set up a booking station next to the Issue Desk which allows you to log in to the MyPC booking system and book a computer in advance. You can also access our online catalogue which will allow you to search for any resources we have including e-books.

Federated Access management log-in is back!

Good news the problems that we have been experiencing with Federated Access Management (aka Shibboleth) log-ins have now been fixed. This means that you can now access a wide range of our online resources at home by logging in with your network log-in details.

New online resources

We have added 4 new online resources to our collection:

Britannica Academic Edition
This award-winning resource provides fast and easy access to high quality and comprehensive information on a wide range of subjects. It also includes the Merriam-Webster's dictionary and thesaurus, large collections of magazine articles, historical e-books, biographies, quotations etc. as well as thousands of multimedia elements (images and video clips) all in one database.

Image Quest (Encyclopedia Britannica)
This resource, provided by Encyclopedia Britannica, gives access to more than 2 million rights-cleared images from over 50 of the best collections in the world which you can use in your coursework.

Primal Pictures
This is a very useful resource for students studying human anatomy and physiology. Our subscription gives access to all 19 modules including Chemistry, Cell Biology, Blood, Histology, Metabolism and various systems of the human body. In each module you have clear 3D images which you can rotate, add and remove layers from, and label each structure. There are also interactive models, narrated animations and illustrations, dissection slides which you can label, clinical case studies, the impact of aging on each body system, a pronunciation guide, quizzes and much more.

Theory Test Pro
A very useful resource to help you pass your driving test. Website tracks your progress and includes banks of official DSA test questions for all vehicles, an online version of the Highway Code and realistic hazard perception video clips. It also offers machine translation into over 40 different languages and speech-enabled tests so that you can listen to the questions.

Unfortunately we are still experiencing problems with UK Federation log ins, whereby you can use your college network log in to access online resources off-campus, but are hopeful that this problem will be resolved very soon.
